The South West’s Funeral Directors. Since 1897.
William Barrett and Sons is the leading family-owned funeral home in WA’s South West. We’re dedicated to delivering personalised, meaningful services with the highest standards of care.
Beyond funerals, we offer free grief support, host events to promote death literacy, and actively support local clubs and charities. We’re also proud members of the Australian Funeral Directors Association and Selected Independent Funeral Homes.
“We’re proud to serve the South West — not just as funeral directors, but as neighbours, friends and community members. Our family has always believed that care doesn’t end with the service; it’s something we live every day.”
— Adrian Barrett, Funeral Director

Our History
William Barrett and Sons is a fourth-generation, family-owned funeral home with deep roots in WA’s South West. Founded by William ‘Billy’ Barrett, who arrived from Ireland in 1897 and began crafting coffins as a skilled carpenter, the business formally began in 1962 when his sons purchased a funeral home in Bunbury.
In 1965, Billy’s grandson Errol joined the business, becoming WA’s first qualified embalmer and eventually taking over from his father and uncles. Today, Errol and his son Adrian continue to lead the company, combining traditional values with modern innovation. As large corporate ownership becomes more common in the industry, the Barrett family remains proudly independent and committed to serving the local community.
